In this exciting role as a Global TMS Infrastructure Technical Specialist at Impala Terminals, you will be responsible for leading the second level of support for our global region. Your primary focus will be on resolving technical issues related to our Terminal Management System (TMS) and ensuring that all terminals operate efficiently. With a strong understanding of automation processes and industrial equipment, you will work closely with IT teams and terminal personnel to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. About the Role
This challenging role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong background in automation and industrial equipment. You will be responsible for supervising and performing health checks on the TMS application and equipment across all terminals. Additionally, you will assist with weekend on-call support as required and collaborate with regional IT infra teams to ensure seamless operation of the TMS infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to other stakeholders, including vendors and terminal staff. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, you will play a vital role in maintaining high levels of satisfaction among our customers and internal teams. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments. A solid understanding of project management principles and knowledge of Oil and Gas terminal operations are also essential for this position. Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform regular health checks on the TMS application and equipment across all terminals.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the TMS and its integration with industrial equipment.
- Collaborate with IT teams and terminal personnel to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other stakeholders, including vendors and terminal staff.
- Develop and implement standards for integrating equipment with the TMS.
- Assist with weekend on-call support as required.
- Contribute to project management activities, including identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in providing end-user IT support, automation, and industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of automation processes, industrial equipment, and Oil and Gas terminal operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams, terminal personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess a valid driver's license and willing to travel occasionally.
