Role Description
The Marketing Manager supports the Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean in the planning, coordination, and execution of approved marketing initiatives, events, and promotional campaigns across the region. This Guatemala-based role is highly execution-focused and requires strong project management and coordination capabilities to ensure activities are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with approved strategies, branding guidelines, and reporting requirements.
The position operates in a remote, multi-stakeholder consulting environment, coordinating internal teams, clients, vendors, and partners across multiple countries. The ideal candidate combines marketing expertise, operational discipline, and project coordination skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Key Responsabilities
- Support the development and execution of approved annual and project-based marketing plans, in close coordination with the Regional Manager – LATAM.
- Ensure that marketing initiatives are implemented effectively, on time, and in compliance with approved scopes of work and program guidelines.
- Translate marketing strategies into clear workplans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring accountability across contributors.
- Oversee the development and implementation of branding and marketing materials, including presentations, visuals, marketing plans, and promotional assets, in line with brand guidelines and using marketing tools such as Canva, Hubspot, etc.
- Build and maintain regional media lists and relationships across trade, business, sustainability, and industry outlets.
- Support the generation of paid, earned media and positive coverage.
- Develop and implement executive visibility plans aligned with approved messaging and brand positioning.
- Ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment across all channels.
- Develop and submit issues sensing, mapping, and response planning in coordination with the Regional Manager and communications leadership.
- Track marketing activity outcomes and compile performance inputs, qualitative insights, and progress updates for internal and client reporting.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of the Digital Media Coordinator, ensuring digital execution aligns with broader marketing plans and timelines.
- Manage marketing initiatives using project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Asana, Trello, Jira or similar).
- Develop and maintain project timelines, task assignments, milestones, and dependencies, including the use of Gantt charts when appropriate.
- Monitor progress across deliverables, proactively identify risks or delays, and escalate or resolve issues to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate closely with the Regional Manager, Program Manager, Digital Media Coordinator, and external partners.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of events, trade shows, seminars, and promotional activities across Latin America.
- Collaborate with Program Manager on event logistics, vendor coordination, timelines, and post-event reporting.
- Support on-site execution for selected regional / in-country events as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve marketing execution, workflows, and audience engagement.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and agencies to ensure timely, high-quality execution of marketing initiatives and activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Business Administration (MBA), International Relations, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related roles.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in remote or hybrid environments.
- Proven experience managing projects, timelines, and deliverables in parallel.
- Experience in agriculture, food & beverage, CPG, nutrition, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations, trade associations, international organizations, or consulting environments is a plus.
- Hands-on experience using project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Asana, Trello, Jira, MS Project or similar).
- Hands-on experience using marketing tools for content/campaign development and management (e.g. Canva, HubSpot, Hootsuite or similar).
- Ability to manage workplans, timelines, and reporting frameworks.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum) is a plus, but not required.
Other Important Information
- Languages: Advanced English and Spanish required.
- Travel: Occasional in-country travel, regional travel 2–4 times per year.
- Documentation: Valid passport and U.S. visa required.
- Compensation: USD $2,500/month, paid bi-weekly.
- Contract: Independent contractor through September 30, with potential for renewal.
