Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Trip Leader to join our team. As a Trip Leader, you will be responsible for managing groups of volunteers on our Service Learning Trips. These trips are 9-day educational journeys to Guatemala, where volunteers work hand-in-hand with local communities on mobile medical clinics and development projects.
Your primary role will be to oversee the logistics of the trip, including managing groups of volunteers, ensuring their wellbeing and safety, and providing an educational experience. You will also be responsible for coordinating with providers for meals, transportation, and hotel rooms, as well as acting as an interpreter between medical professionals and community members and the volunteers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage groups of volunteers and ensure their wellbeing and safety
- Oversee logistics of the mobile clinics and development projects
- Coordinate with providers for meals, transportation, and hotel rooms
- Act as interpreter between medical professionals and community members and the volunteers
- Deliver educational content during Service Learning Trips
- Provide reports to Operations Coordinator during and after the SLT
- Accompany the group during meals and optional activities
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in group management or tour leadership
- Degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Humanities, International Development, or Social Sciences
- Excellent proficiency in English
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Responsible, motivated, adaptable, and hard-working
- Excellent decision-making and risk management skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of contexts
