Whats unique about this job (What you'll do)

In-Person, Lab-Based Role

At PriceSmart, our Point of Sale (POS) systems are at the heart of the member experience across 13 countries. As a POS Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert bridging legacy and next-generation POS technology, ensuring business continuity today while driving innovation for tomorrow. This is an in-person, lab-based role where your presence and expertise will directly shape testing, validation, and system readiness.

What You'll Do

• Support & Maintain:
  Keep the legacy Freedom POS system reliable across all countries, ensuring uninterrupted business operations.
• Enable Transformation:
  Drive the adoption and optimization of ELERA POS, delivering enhanced functionality and a seamless member experience.
• Requirement Gathering:
  Collaborate with business teams to capture and translate operational and fiscal requirements into system configurations.
• Testing & Validation (Lab-Oriented):
  Lead in-person lab testing sessions, executing test plans and validating new features with internal teams and external vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and performance.
• Mentor & Guide:
  Share expertise with junior team members, elevating overall team capability in lab testing and rollout practices.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience maintaining and supporting POS systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware, and networking basics (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN).
• Hands-on experience designing and executing test plans, using automation tools (e.g., TestRail), and managing system rollouts.
• Comfortable working in
  lab environments
  with hardware, terminals, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud fundamentals, endpoint security, and disaster recovery practices.
• Excellent communication skills to work across countries and teams.
• English: conversational required, fluency preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field experience preferred.
