Liquid Terminal Systems Manager

Main Objective:

To oversee and implement the comprehensive Operational Technology for Liquid Terminals, in alignment with the strategic goals set by Impala Terminals. Direct the regional team and contractors, ensuring collaboration with other functional teams to address technological needs across various terminal types while optimizing processes where feasible. Actively contribute to the OT leadership team by delivering solutions and support based on established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Guaranteeing that all OT projects and initiatives are executed punctually, within budget, conforming to defined quality benchmarks, and fulfilling user specifications and expectations.
  • Formulating, executing, and sustaining policies and procedures for application support services.
  • Leading all service operation processes, including incident management, configuration management, change management, release management, and application support.
  • Ensuring that all support or service requests are managed according to the established protocols.
  • Facilitating cross-functional training and knowledge exchange among team members.
  • Maintaining and revising technical documentation and procedures.
  • Acting as project manager for all support initiatives, new releases, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Adhering to standardized methodologies for projects and support.
  • Ensuring integration of project activities and timelines for multifaceted projects, documenting and storing critical project information for future reference.
  • Providing regular updates to the Executive Committee regarding project progress.
  • Establishing SLAs with support teams that align with the heads of functional teams across all terminal types.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of support teams and their compliance with established SLAs, offering feedback and guidance for personal development.
  • Preparing documents, meeting materials, and correspondence as required.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure successful completion of projects or support tasks, particularly in complex scenarios.
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer service and support is delivered to all stakeholders and sites.
  • Managing various aspects of OT, including budget, team, resources, and projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in leading deployment solutions that integrate applications and Operational Technology.
  • PMP certification is preferred, with a solid understanding of technical infrastructure and information technology.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
  • A Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Operational Technology and project management.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and organizational management.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to simplify complex project details for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and exercise sound technical and business judgment in critical Automation projects within Operations and Terminal environments.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen interest in industrial equipment and terminal operations.
  • Effective people management skills to guide cross-functional teams towards achieving objectives.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, respecting various experiences and cultures.
  • Bilingual proficiency: English and another local language.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice to locations with active TMS operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Familiarity with Oil/Downstream platforms is advantageous.
  • Expertise in integrating industrial equipment and understanding communication protocols.
  • Working knowledge of networking equipment such as routers, firewalls, and switches, including Cisco, Citrix, VPN, and link optimization appliances.
  • Understanding of automation processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential; proficiency in other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, including the Executive Committee, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and experience in leading support for Liquid Terminal Management Systems.
