Inbox Health is seeking a skilled and seasoned Senior Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about developing exceptional web applications and is keen to enhance the interaction between patients and their healthcare providers. In this role, you will leverage modern development technologies and AGILE methodologies to deliver high-quality code to a vast user base. Our technology stack features Kubernetes for deployment of essential products and utilizes AWS Step Functions and Lambda for workflow orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Design and implement REST API resources and endpoints for both integrated partners and client applications.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to translate specifications into actionable development tasks.
  • Utilize the Ember SPA framework to develop new front-end features using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Employ Ruby on Rails and other server-side languages to manage HTTP requests, execute database queries, and serialize response data.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with business goals and compliance standards.
  • Address complex data modeling and performance-testing challenges to efficiently manage high-volume requests.
  • Create unit tests in RSpec for all product feature requests.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across various services and throughout the technology stack.
  • Develop user interfaces adhering to best practices and utilizing appropriate toolsets.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers through various communication channels.
  • Assist in the testing and deployment of products and features.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience specifically using Ruby for web applications and/or REST APIs, preferably with Ruby on Rails.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and front-end development within a Single-page Application Framework.
  • Expertise in Ruby programming and server-side development best practices.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing database models and SQL queries in PostgreSQL, ideally through ActiveRecord ORM in Ruby on Rails.
  • Familiarity with job processing, queuing, and ETL best practices.
  • Experience with cloud deployment practices and system administration, including Kubernetes and Unix.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Salary: This position offers a competitive salary of up to Q32,500 per month.
