The UN Development Coordination Office seeks a seasoned Senior Development Coordination Officer to serve as the Head of RCO and Strategic Planner. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking individual with expertise in strategic planning, sustainable development policy, and program management.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the United Nations' efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As the Head of RCO and Strategic Planner, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to the Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team on effective, quality, and timely UN support for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the provision of strategic guidance to the RC and UNCT on effective, quality, and timely UN support for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda through a new generation CCA/UNSDCF;
  • Facilitate and oversee the initiation, establishment, and coordination of external partnerships and joint resource mobilization efforts for the new generation UNSDCF;
  • Coordinate and support the roll-out and implementation of the efficiency agenda (Business Operations Strategy, Common Premises, and Local Shared Service Centers/Common Back-Office);
  • Manage and direct knowledge management and capacity development activities in and outside the UN System;
  • Lead and coordinate overall management of the RCO to ensure efficient and effective substantive coordination support to the RC/UNCT and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
About You

To succeed in this critical role, you must possess a deep understanding of sustainable development, strategic planning, and program management. Your excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders will be essential in facilitating collaboration and driving results. A master's degree in business or public administration, sustainable development, social sciences, education, or a related area, combined with at least ten years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, sustainable development policy, and program management, is required.
