We are seeking an experienced professional as Senior Country Officer to join our team in Central America. The position will be based in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and will report to the Regional Manager for Central America.

Job Description:
  • Co-lead business development for investment, upstream and advisory services along with industries and other responsible teams.
  • SUPPORT SECTOR TEAMS IN EXECUTING TRANSACTIONS AND HANDLING PORTFOLIO PROJECTS.
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH BUSINESS PARTNERS AND HIGH-LEVEL REPRESENTATIVES OF GOVERNMENTS, AS WELL AS WITH GOVERNMENTAL AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, TO MAXIMIZE THE IMPACT OF IFC'S INTERVENTION AND TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRIES AND THEIR INDUSTRIES.

We require a Master's degree in a related field and at least 12-15 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience could include a proven track record in business consulting or investment banking, or operational experience in the sector or technical or professional field.

We seek a professional with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, and existing strong network of contacts, both with key government stakeholders, private sector leaders, and business community at large. We also require country knowledge, industry/sector knowledge, ability to identify opportunities for collaboration, analytical, financial, credit, integrity assessment and business skills, negotiation skills, people management skills, and excellent understanding of WBG, IFC (investment and advisory) and WBG products and project requirements.
