Job Description

NCBA CLUSA is accepting applications for Digital Finance Services Advisor role (DFS Advisor) for an anticipated USAID-funded opportunity in Guatemala. The potential opportunity will focus on improving access and utilization of financial services, financial literacy capacity building of smallholder farmers (SHFs), medium and small enterprises (MSMEs), women, youth, and indigenous and social minorities in the Western Highlands and Verapaces, mobilizing capital for rural financial inclusion in alignment with USAID Guatemala strategic objectives to decrease migration, address inequalities and foster partnerships with local organizations. 

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: 

The DFS Advisor will be responsible for technical expertise on the design and implementation of a DFS strategy that 1) secures long-term prospects and future of financial service providers (FSPs) providing digital finance products to beneficiaries, and 2) inclusively connects underserved households and small businesses with financial eco-systems that catalyze participation in rural economy in the targeted program area. S/He will identify systemic constraints both infrastructural and non-infrastructural that are preventing FSPs from expanding their current use of digital finance platforms. The DFS Advisor will support the Program in identifying new projects/activities aimed at increasing access to finance for youth, women, and indigenous minorities and will help the Program Team in acquiring specific insights and knowledge of the DFS sector by sharing best practices. S/He will ensure that NCBA CLUSA’s values, methodology, and approaches are uniformly implemented throughout the project.

The expected duration of the Program is five years. This will be a contract position starting as soon as possible.
